Facial Massage in Albuquerque

Our face holds stress in the muscles and tissues, which is easy to ignore or take for granted.  It’s easy to smile too much and have sore cheeks, or squint and have a sore forehead.

A facial massage is a gentle, therapeutic massage focused just on the muscles of the face, head, neck and shoulders.  This specialized massage for these overused face muscles can loosen all that tension and provide deep relaxation.

Our Athletic Touch facial massage is one of the most relaxing treatments available.

On clean skin, which you clean prior to the facial massage (which is one of the differences between a facial and a facial massage), a facial massage uses hypo-allergenic oil or no oil at all on the skin.

Also involved in this relaxing massage are hot towels, aromatherapy, spritzes, and many different light massage strokes, stretching and strengthening techniques to relax all the muscles of the face, jaw, head, neck and shoulders.

What’s the Difference Between a Facial & a Facial Massage?

The difference between a facial massage and a facial is the skin.

While a facial concentrates on cleaning the skin, hydrating the skin, exfoliating the skin, etc, an Athletic Touch facial massage concentrates on relaxing the muscles, facia, tendons, ligaments, etc. under the skin.

We use hot towels and aromatherapy for calming around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, the jaw, neck, head and shoulders. This is one of the most relaxing forms of massage available.

Because a facial massage deals with the muscles and not the skin, please thoroughly clean your face and neck prior to arriving for your treatment.

Can a Facial Massage Help Wrinkles Smooth Out?

Yes. This uses gentle strokes to move lymph and other puffiness away from the under the eyes, the crows feet on the temples, smile lines around the mouth, and the forehead to lessen the look and depth of wrinkles.

Your wrinkles will noticeably look better. Add a facial massage to a monthly routine to keep your face looking young, smooth and relaxed.

Does a Facial Massage Hurt?

No, a facial massage does not hurt. In fact, a facial massage is one of the most relaxing massage treatments.

This treatment is great as a Mother’s Day Gift or for a stressed out friend as a gift for them to relax and rejuvenate. Come experience deep relaxation with a 90 minute Facial Massage Treat.

How Long Does a Facial Massage Take?

How long does it take?
30, 60 or 90 minutes are the increments of time for facial massage. 15 and 30 minutes are “Add-ons” to other massage treatments, and the 60 and 90 minute facial massages are stand-alone treatments. For stress relief in the face, even the 15 minutes is a nice add-on to any massage.
